Alexander Technique

Educational method for movement, that can ease pain

What is the Alexander Technique?

The Alexander Technique is not a treatment, it's a self-help method to regain ease in your body. Movement is freer and balance better, and people often find they are stronger and more comfortable.

"I just feel like I can stand straight without trying!" (starts laughing)

— Joy T, 85 year-old with osteoporosis

The Alexander Technique is a totally different approach to conventional exercise therapy, and may help when other approaches have not, or have given only temporary relief. People change shape even though we don't work on posture directly. A typical early change is that people notice they need to adjust the rear-view mirror in their car because they've got taller!

Stronger, more comfortable

How we move, and how much tension we have, has a huge influence on whether we are well and comfortable. The Alexander Technique gives a new awareness and control, which changes how we move for the better and can ease pain.
